Here’s a question for you: Bush and Paulson are leaving a gigantic steaming pile of government responsibility and bad incentives at the door of the likely-to-win Democrats and Senator Obama.  I submit that this bailout is at least partially a Rovian effort to make every one of Obama’s promises null-and-void and ensure a GOP midterm victory in 2010 and possibly a return to the White House in 2012.
